Bookclub meets on the 2nd Monday of the month, from 10am to 12 noon, with members taking it in turn to host the group in their homes.

Unusually, perhaps, for a very friendly Bookclub, we tend, actually, to discuss the book (recommended the previous month by a member of the group) in some depth! This is with the aid of thought-provoking questions about the characters and their relationships, the plot and the style of writing and, although these may inspire reminiscences, mention of similar books and reports of personal experience, we generally save chit-chat and gossip until coffee-time!! We are lucky in that most of the books we read are lent to us by the library.

Occasionally, we may ring the changes by asking each participant, in turn, to review a book of their choice, so, in one meeting, we may be introduced to a dozen new books, not all receiving accolades! The last such meeting proved very popular.
